Discovery Flight
The discovery flight is the perfect way to get acquainted with your instructor and airplane before committing fully. You'll spend the flight getting a feel for the skies and deciding if becoming a licensed pilot is right for you. Afterwards, you’ll discuss what materials and equipment you’ll need, how much time you’ll need to dedicate, and the costs involved.
Computer-based instruction or in-person lessons
We offer both online and in-person courses to help you learn. Opt for online ground school or learn with an instructor face-to-face. If you follow our online curriculum, you can learn at your own pace and “fly” the material with your instructor when you’re ready. Our online ground school is the best way to learn quicker and retain more through repetition.
Start your flying lessons
Ready for takeoff? Let's go! We'll cover everything from climbs and descents, turns and banks, to takeoffs and landings. Your flight instructor will guide you through all the various maneuvers to make sure you're on your way to becoming a pro.
You can schedule your flying lessons with the touch of a click, using Flight Schedule Pro, a web-based scheduling tool. Within seconds, you'll get an overview of each instructor's and airplane's availability.
Get your Aviation Medical Certificate
Don't worry, this is a simple process. As specified by FAA requirements, pilots must have a medical certificate prior to flying solo in an airplane. All you'll have to do is pass a brief physical exam adminstered by a FAA-authorized medical examiner. Not sure where to go? We'll provide you a list of the top local examiners.
Your First Solo Flight
At last, after 15 to 20 flight instruction hours, you'll be ready to spread your wings for your first solo flight. This involves three consecutive takeoffs and full-stop landings. Take it from us pilots, there's nothing like this moment.
Lift off from Ground Lessons to Build Flight Time and Experience
This is where you'll become more comfortable with advanced techniques and maneuvers. In addition to enjoying solo time, you'll see what it's like to fly at night while completing your first solo cross-country flight.
Pass your FAA Written Test
The next step is to take this computer-based multiple choice test. Pass with a score of 70% or more, and you'll be well on your way to becoming a certificated Private Pilot.
Pass Your FAA Flight Exam
It's time for the big one. You'll fly with an FAA examiner who will drill you on everything you've learned. Your flight instructor will make sure you're going in prepared and pass your "Check Ride" in a breeze.
Start Enjoying the Pilot Life
You’ve earned it! Time to fly your family and friends for a little escape. Nothing beats flying yourself to the beach.
Level up to an Instrument or Commercial Certificate
Looking to get additional ratings to your Private Pilot Certification? We provide additional instruction for those who want some extra wings with an instrument rating. Have your eyes on making money or teaching instead? We'll also give you the tools to receive a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
